I have frequently expressed how Everdell is my favorite board game in the hobby. Way back in 2018, somewhere between liking board games and becoming a hobbyist, I found a Kickstarter for what seemed like a sweet little game about forest critters. I backed it, my first time ever backing anything on Kickstarter, and waited. I hoped it would make its goal but I honestly forgot about it until a fun package was delivered to me months later. I played through the game for the first time and fell in love!
It was created with such care, from the materials chosen, to the well developed rule book, to the stunning artwork. For me, it was also the first time I really saw the replayability in a board game. With the different event and special event cards, the goal of every play through was different. Since then, I had backed almost every Everdell expansion.
Recently, we introduced two new players to world of Everdell. I was hoping to see if Everdell still held the same magic all of these years, and all of these expansions, later. I am happy to say that it still plays as wonderfully as I remember, with the wooden forest critter meeples working up and down the Evertree and the delightful artwork drawing you deeper into the story.

While, sadly, I lost the game miserably by about 30 points, the world of Everdell still holds it’s magic for me! I am happy to conclude that it is still my favorite game!
